    BE WITH ME

Ever since his mother left, Eddie has isolated himself inside the brothel where she once worked. He lives a solitary life, keeping to himself and dreaming of nothing but his mother’s return. The manager of the brothel, Ryan, tries to force Eddie to accept the fact that she will not return. This only causes Eddie to retreat further into himself. However when a young trafficked girl, Joni, is brought to work in the brothel, Eddie feels a connection that he has not felt in a long time. This young victim tries to escape but is caught and locked in her room. Eddie is afraid to approach her, but follows her every movement from a dis- tance. When he discovers a tiny crack in the corner of her room, he finally has a way to communicate with her, and they begin to develop a friendship. With this new relationship, however, Eddie begins to open his heart, and he begins to realize that his mother is not coming back. Ryan tries to help, but only makes things worse, and Eddie reaches a crisis because of the new re- alization. Can he stay close to Joni and confront the reality of his situation or will he continue to run away from his problems?
